Detroit Environmental Agenda

Need: Although there are many existing efforts and initiatives to improve Detroit’s environment, there is a need to establish a comprehensive, cohesive, integrated framework for sustainability in the city of Detroit.

Goal: The goal of the report itself is to inform research, policy, programs and community-led efforts to improve environmental quality in Detroit. In the process, we hope to foster a culture of stewardship – respecting, valuing, and caring for our environment.

Purpose: Most broadly, for the advancement of a clean environment, strong economy, good governance, engaged community, and vibrant culture in Detroit.

Status: A small group of local residents, environmental advocates, and organizations are convening to draft the report process and outline.
